Saintfield High School is situated in the heart of Saintfield Village and has served successfully the area and it’s wider rural community for over 50 years.
As a rural school, which enjoys a warm friendly community atmosphere, we share an ethos which is based upon traditional family values. Embedded within our mission statement is the aim to provide an educational experience which targets the individual excellence within all our pupils. We enrol boys and girls 11 – 16 years old and welcome those of all abilities, aptitudes and needs. P7 children can apply for a place at Saintfield High School without having to sit an entrance test.
In the year of 2008 I attended Saintfield High School’s Open Evening, the school I wanted to be placed in. When I arrived and experienced the warm atmosphere, and heard how much the school was like a family, it confirmed for me that Saintfield High was the school for me.The more I saw of the school environment, the more I spoke to the teachers and current pupils, the more I loved it.The past five years have been simply amazing. I could not have asked for any more; the teachers and staff have been so supportive and without them I would not be where I am today. The friends that I have made are for life. Becoming Head Boy has been the greatest honour I could have received. I am so proud to represent Saintfield High School.

When I attended Saintfield High School for the first time as a Year 8 pupil, on the 1st September 2008, I was nervous but excited about what the future would hold for me. I was worried that I would struggle to make new friends and that new subjects would prove to be very demanding. However, when I look back now as a Year 12 pupil, I realise that the past four years have been an incredible journey for me. I have achieved so many personal goals throughout my time here and in September 2012 I reached my ultimate goal, when I was awarded the position of Head Girl. It is both a pleasure and a privilege to represent such a successful school with a fantastic reputation and, undoubtedly, a promising future. As I approach the end of my time at Saintfield High School, I am confident that I have been well equipped with the necessary skills to allow me to progress to further and higher education and into the world of work. The pupils and staff of Saintfield High School have been like a second family to me since 2008 and I am extremely proud to have played my part in the thriving school community we have.
